Time to Travel
We’re getting ready for our second overseas trip. Friends of ours announced they they were getting married in Germany so we decided to turn the event into a bit of a holiday as well. We will be visiting Germany, Czech Republic and United Kingdom. Quite a few friends we haven’t seen in years are living in London now, so it’s going to be great to visit them.
There is still some packing to do (well all of it) but that will hopefully get done today. Everything that needs to be packed is at least organised, so hopefully it will go quick. The Rand continues to dive against the main currencies, which is really depressing, but hey what can you do?
This trip is going to be a bit less intense than the Contiki tour. We’ve got some plans for each stop but we’ve mostly left space for impromptu sightseeing. I am looking forward to tasting lots of European beers and I’m told you can do a beer and bicycle tour (which I can only imagine becoming very challenging after a few “stops”).
It’s also going to interesting to see how technology is going to work for me on this trip. Last time I had a Sony Ericsson P910i and a £5 pre-paid SIM to do my blogging. Now I have a WordPress app, not to mention all the other things like tripit, flight tracker and maps. I might post a few pictures this time round if bandwidth allows. I am also weary of getting too trapped in emails and keeping up with tech news and forums. One needs to take some time out and disconnect. So if I’m too quiet, it must be a good holiday!
